Position Overview

We’re looking for an experienced tax preparer/reviewer to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional seeking flexible employment who enjoys contributing their expertise to a smaller, hands-on team. During peak tax seasons (February–April and September–October), hours may go beyond full-time, with part-time opportunities available throughout the rest of the year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
  • Identify and resolve tax issues; ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
  • Review staff-prepared returns for accuracy, completeness, and professional presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to clarify documentation and ensure timely filings.
  • Support the team in workflow management via TaxDome practice management software.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in tax preparation and review, ideally within a smallfirm environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of individual and corporate tax returns (C and S corporations).
  • Proficiency with common tax software (e.g., Lacerte, Drake, or UltraTax) and Microsoft Office.
  • CPA or EA certification preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent attention to detail, efficiency under deadlines, and collaborative mindset.

Compensation

Hourly position, commensurate with experience.
